Über der Grenze

Über der Grenze is one of the few works to document artistically the end of the Masegn–Vorab cable car (1978–2025). For almost five decades it shaped the alpine experience in Laax; it ceased operation in April 2025. The photograph shows its final winter season: two gondolas suspended above a sea of fog, supported by a striking steel pylon and framed by the winter alpine landscape. What was once part of everyday life becomes a symbol of transience and change.
