Moments when the sky transforms the landscape.
Celestial Signs brings together rare events in the sky in which light, weather and landscape briefly form a single composition: a double rainbow over Flims, the optical echo of the Tschingelhörner in a layer of cloud, lenticular clouds over Patagonia, the last light at the Schäfler and northern lights over Icelandic landscape. None of these events can be planned or repeated.
Flims, 2023. A double rainbow opens over Flims. In five years of work in this region, this moment of light occurred only once.
Schäfler, Alpstein, 2024. Shortly before sunset, the cloud cover opens at the horizon. The last sunlight turns the ridge and rock towers red. Moments later, the sun has set.
Tschingelhörner, Flims-Sardona, 2025. Clouds above the peaks catch their shadows. Each summit repeats its shape in the mist. For a short time, the ridge appears twice.
Iceland, 2023. The northern lights are reflected in a lake. Mountain silhouettes separate sky and water.
El Chalten, 2026. A lenticular cloud stands over the mountains, shaped by wind and currents at altitude.
