Moments when the sky transforms the landscape.
Celestial Signs brings together rare events in which light, weather and landscape briefly take on a shared form: a double rainbow over Flims, mountain shadows in the clouds around the Tschingelhörner, lenticular clouds over Patagonia, openings of light above water and the aurora over a northern landscape. None of these events can be planned or repeated.
Still After
Flims, 2023. A double rainbow opens over Flims. In five years of work in this region, this moment of light occurred only once.
Fire on the Horizon
Schäfler, Alpstein, 2024. Shortly before sunset, the cloud cover opens at the horizon. The last sunlight turns the ridge and rock towers red. Moments later, the sun has set.
Echo of Stones
Tschingelhörner, Flims-Sardona, 2025. Clouds above the peaks catch their shadows. Each summit repeats its shape in the mist. For a short time, the ridge appears twice.
Skylight Veil
Iceland, 2023. The northern lights are reflected in a lake. Mountain silhouettes separate sky and water.
Lenticular
El Chalten, 2026. A lenticular cloud stands over the mountains, shaped by wind and currents at altitude.
