Between Ice and Water

A high mountain lake at the Chüeboden Glacier in the Gotthard massif. Floes of compacted snow drift on turquoise water, with a lone paddler between them who carried his board up to 3,000 metres. The works show a rare state between ice and water that remains visible for only a few years.
Solitude above Ice
A paddler glides over reflective glacial water, between slabs of ice beneath the rock face.
Lightfall
The first sun stands above the ridge. A lone figure is outlined on the still lake.
Adrift
From above, the glacial lake breaks into slabs of ice and expanses of water. A single paddleboard lies between them.
Flow and Fragment
Broken ice floes drift in the turquoise water of the glacial lake.
Under the Stars
The Milky Way stands above the glacial basin. Ridges and ice remain visible in the night light.
